  • The Indian Army

Reader J Kelley sent along this Indian Army recruiting film. I’ll be honest and admit I haven’t really paid much attention to the Indian Army.

The Indian Army actually counts its roots as the regiments of the East India Company’s private army, then as an adjunct of the British Empire’s army, and then, of course, post independence, as its own force.

The Indian Army is, not surprisingly, modeled mostly along British lines, in terms of organization and doctrine, not to mention uniforms.  But the Indian post-colonial flirtation with socialism, and its perceived need to avoid neo-colonialism, saw it acquire for many years mostly Soviet equipment. How that weird blend of Soviet equipment and British doctrine works is an open question.

It should be noted that the India Army is huge, with over 1.1 million active troops, and almost a million reservists. It has a genuine threat to national sovereignty, facing as it does both a belligerent Pakistan, and the similarly large Chinese Army.  The Indian Army also has a large internal security role, in addition to being the prime provider of Humanitarian Aid/Disaster Relief inside India.  It is an all volunteer force, the largest in the world.

  • When the Tipping Point Becomes the Breaking Point – Hookers & Booze

By now, most of y’all are aware of the Mass Muslim Male Migration™ taking place in Europe. It isn’t a refugee crisis. It’s not a cry for humanitarian aid. It’s an invasion by those who are trying to finish what Charles Martel and San Isidro stopped back in the late 1400’s. You know, back when Europeans actually had balls and recognized an invasion when they saw one.Anyway, it appears that the only countries interested in staying sovereign (read: surviving) are countries who were recent members of the Occupied Club. Hungary is trying to stem the tide of wretched refuse as is Czech Republic. But the powerhouse countries, those who came up with that idiotic plan called the European Union, are only too happy to take them in, because they are either stupid, or calculating. I haven’t decided which is more apt. Germany’s PM Merkel has declared that her country will take in 500,00 immigrants a year for the next several years. And what’s more, she is pressuring the rest of the EU countries to follow suit so that Germany and France and Great Britain and Italy don’t get overwhelmed. And countries like Hungary are screaming “WE CAN’T AFFORD THIS!!!”

49% of the “Syrian” “refugees” aren’t Syrian. 75% of the “refugees” are military aged males.

Europe is slitting its own throat.

  • Military selects rarely used charge for Bergdahl case – Yahoo News

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Military prosecutors have reached into a section of military law seldom used since World War II in the politically fraught case against Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the soldier held prisoner for years by the Taliban after leaving his post in Afghanistan.Observers wondered for months if Bergdahl would be charged with desertion after the deal brokered by the U.S. to bring him home. He was — but he was also charged with misbehavior before the enemy, a much rarer offense that carries a stiffer potential penalty in this case.

Theoretically, Article 99 carries the death penalty. As a practical matter, it is highly unlikely that Bergdahl will receive a life sentence, let alone the death penalty.

It should be noted that the Article 32 hearing, akin to a grand jury proceeding, hasn’t yet begun, and Bergdahl has not been formally charged as yet, let alone convicted.

Because that despicable charlatan despises us.  WE are his enemies.  ISIS?  Iran?  Muslim Brotherhood?  Cuba?  No siree.  Law-abiding Americans who believe in our Constitution, we are the ones to be destroyed.

    Take note.  Hillary is worse.

  • Playing Hooky

Sorry for light content today. I was skipping school. Spill invited me up to Laughlin, NV. Now, I had never actually *met* my longtime coauthor, so it was reasonable to presume that he wanted to murder me, bury my body in the desert, and assume my identity.  On the other hand, there was a small chance there would be some free booze involved. Which, happily, there was free booze, and no murder.

  • Obama’s Syria achievement – The Washington Post

This may be the most surprising of President Obama’s foreign-policy legacies: not just that he presided over a humanitarian and cultural disaster of epochal proportions, but that he soothed the American people into feeling no responsibility for the tragedy.Starvation in Biafra a generation ago sparked a movement. Synagogues and churches a decade ago mobilized to relieve misery in Darfur. When the Taliban in 2001 destroyed ancient statues of Buddha at Bamiyan, the world was appalled at the lost heritage. Today the Islamic State is blowing up precious cultural monuments in Palmyra, and half of all Syrians have been displaced — as if, on a proportional basis, 160 million Americans had been made homeless. More than a quarter-million have been killed. Yet the “Save Darfur” signs have not given way to “Save Syria.”

None of this is the least bit surprising to anyone who saw what a neophyte Obama was in 2007, and grasped that he saw the world in terms where a weak US was what was best for the world.

  • Shadowhawks Growlers underway 2011.

The Shadowhawks of VAQ-141 made one of the first deployments of the EA-18G Growler as it began to replace the aging EA-6B Prowler as the fleet’s prime Electronic Attack platform.

Yes, that was a Tornado aerial refueling in afterburner. Heavily laden attack jets usually operate at a fairly low altitude (think the mid 20s) and keeping up with a tanker like a KC-10 at 30 or 35k takes afterburner.

Oh, and that little MRAD light? And then an explosion down below? Yes, they’re linked. But I’m not gonna say how.

We’re on the road this weekend, so posting is probably going to be pretty thin.
