   As a survival instructor, I went through the same medical course that the pararescue guys did. My hat was off to them then and is still off to them today.

   The sad thing is is that Rescue today is broke. Since the Pave Pigs were retired there has been no real replacement identified. They had a competition and the wrong aircraft won (CH-47, can’t have an Army A/C in the AF)) so that was thrown out. They have MH-60s but they are long in the tooth, short legged and of limited ability in today’s environment IMO.
