Transgender airmen on their way to a new gender have been given the option to opt out of taking physical fitness tests.

A memorandum signed by the Secretary of the Air Force, Deborah Lee James, confirmed this change in regulation in the beginning of October.

Transgender airmen -active duty, reserve, and national guard- in the middle of hormone treatment can ask to skip physical training assessments “during their period of transition, prior to a gender marker change in the MilPDS,” if they have failed a test.

You’re seeing just the tip of the iceberg. Next thing you know I’ll get a phone call from a USAF recruiter asking me if I’d like to go to Pilot training.

Does a transgender man get a prostate exam? Is it discriminatory not to give him one? Is it sexual harassment or sexual assault to attempt to give him one? What if he wants one?
So many unknowns in our brave new world. Which will be, of course, the best of all possible worlds.
