Prior planning prevents piss poor performance. 1. No Warning Order 2. No written Operations Order 3. No Commander’s Intent 4. No designated Main Effort 5. No priority of fires 6. No use of the Military Decision Making Process. How can this battalion expect to achieve its objective?

I can’t believe the CC/Bde OPORD was issued in less than 13 minutes. That’s the kind of order that results in a lot of follow up questions and discussions between the subordinate commanders.
I totally get the BN commander and his cheese-eating grin at the end, though, because in peace time there are few things that compare to doing a well-designed unit LFX.
Love the shots of the tanks and halftracks running of trees and scrub brush. Of course with this wanton disregard for our environment and the blatant lack of care for the mating grounds of the tufted sage grouse, these anarcho-capitalist running dogs can only win in scripted scenarios! And no diversity to speak of either! However will they fare against the brilliance of the freedom loving People’s Army?
Ken, you obviously missed all the smoking going on as well. Don’t these people understand the danger of second-hand smoke!?
That’s not to mention the missing reflective belts…

I thought that was supposed to be a good thing, just issuing general mission orders and leaving the detailed implementation to the subordinates. Of course even with no experience I know that the film oversimplifies the process. Pretty casual about it, too. How long would it take in reality?
