My current set-up- FSX: Steam Edition, with ORBX World Base, and ORBX SoCal and ORBX KPSP scenery, and the PMDG 737NG. I also have and use Aivlasoft’s Electronic Flight Bag, and sometimes I use the SimBrief.com flight planning portal.

I have ProATC-X and FS2Crew, but I’m not using them right now.  I’m planning on doing a clean reinstallation soon, and will implement them then. And as I add to the sim, you’ll get videos with those as well.

    EGA?
    Bah.
1.0, baby, and CGA. EGA was for the rich kids!

For some reason this reminds me of some of the mods made to Falcon 4.0 I played…
Setting all of the switches set before start-up is probably the reason.
I never cease to be amazed that my desktop is capable of actually simulating such detail. When I was a sprout, such things were millions of dollars.

I wish they’d come out with a new version of Falcon. I had 1.0/3.0/4.0.
(by the time I had hardware that could run Falcon AT, it was long since obsolete and I had the Falcon 3.0 box set with MiG-29 and F/A-18.)
but yeah, 4.0 was phenomenal. I had a lot of fun with the F4UT mod. After all this time, I can’t remember the names of the two competing packages that merged to create it, but I played with both of them before the merger, too.
    Good times.

Ok, time for a silly question. I’ve seen mention of Steam before, but what is it exactly?

If you’re a gamer, Steam is the greatest thing ever.
    If you’re a gamer’s wallet (or wife / mother / accountant / etc) then it’s a nightmare curse.
It’s a digital distribution platform for games which offers good quality products at a reasonable price, thereby removing much of the incentive for mass-market piracy.

So it’s a store, then? The gaming equivalent of Amazon streaming?
    Interesting.
