    A friend in Ohio used to be stationed at Key West on an old Diesel Sub before Castro took Cuba. He said they would make regular booze runs to Havana, and they would store the stuff in the forward torpedo tubes. One time coming back a Customs boat hailed them and told them to heave to. The skipper was on the conning tower and called the forward toward and said “fire an air slug from 3.” The Customs agent saw the stuff floating in the water and said they could proceed. After they tied up, they divided the losses up among those that bought hooch.
