   My first helicopter ride was on a CH-34 in Germany. My company got a nice aerial tour of the Mannheim-Worms area as we did some airmobile training. Lots of fun, but that small single door was a pain (literally) to get out of.

   The markings seem to indicate it belongs to the YMRA.

   Saw those a lot in Germany in the late 60s. There were a few UH-1s at Echterdingen, but most UH-1s were in Vietnam during that period.
   A retired Warrant Officer Pilot who used to attend my church flew the things in Germany. He was assigned to fly a Brigadier who hated aviation. He got in, plunked down right under an oil leak. It just dripped, and the Brigadier looked rather hatefully at my friend, so he left the General right where he sat. When they dropped him off, he had a rather large oil stain on the back of field jacket.
   A bit off topic, but the same warrant also flew Mohawks in Germany. He said that they set up a 55 gallon drum of oil in the cabin with feed tubes going to each engine. Those big Wright radials used a lot of oil. One guy who was asking what it cost to fly a T-6 was then told, you couldn’t afford the oil.
   Rather strange that the video in the You Tube clip is printed backwards.
