It’s nice to see we can afford to buy extra equipment and ship it to and store it in foreign countries. Whatever happened to that budget crunch I have heard so much about?
“…primarily for humanitarian and disaster relief…”
    “primarily”?? Pardon my cynicism.

If China wants to invade Vietnam and Cambodia, should we really try to stop them? There are many countries who know what a bad idea that is — including China herself.

Hmm – historically, it’s been a bad idea to invade VN and Cambodia because they were being sponsored by … well, China and Russia. It’s unlikely that Ivan could spare much right now after the deployments in Ukraine and Syria, and it’s even less likely that the Chinese would offer much in the way of help.
They’d need a sponsor of some sort. And, hey, why not?

China and Vietnam had a rather nasty little dust up in 1979, with no outside intervention. The Chinese came off rather worse for wear. One suspects their army is significantly improved since then.
