  1. Hmm

Armor angling / sidescraping seems like a cheesy, unrealistic tactic even in World of Tanks… and much more so in World of Warships.
Has anyone ever heard of a WWI or WWII engagement in which they tried to angle their armor?

Ask any tanker about “follow the tube.”
Basically, the gun tube on the tank is generally kept pointed in the direction of the greatest threat. And the driver turns the tank to keep the gun tube centered over his hatch.
    Why?
Because the frontal arc of the tank has the greatest armor.

That’s not what they mean by angling the armor in WOT. Front towards enemy, yeah, that’s reasonable, but sidescraping, never heard of that in real life, nor have I heard of angling the frontal armor to try and get enemy shots to bounce.
