What always shocks me is that when I ask them, “Would you want Dick Cheney controlling all the guns in America?”, they ignore it and go on ranting about “common sense gun laws”.

Old guys may remember the Mad Magazine cartoon from the mid-1970s showing Beame walking around crime-ridden NYC with his bodyguards proclaiming “the city is perfectly safe”.
