So, a Marine in Okinawa got drunk, was on Kadena Air Base, somehow got into a hangar, and then set off the fire suppression system.

To paraphrase my brother’s philosophy, “Ya get drunk, ya do sh*t!”
Bet that gets some initials in the OOD logbook. I can see the entry now:
1734- Dined at 12th Marines Chow Hall. Chow was of sufficient quality and quantity, kitchen was clean and sanitary.
1855- Made rounds of barracks, Duty NCO reported promptly and sharply. All quiet.
2230- Made round of barracks. Duty NCO reported promptly and sharply. Taps sounded, all secure.
2325- USAF base security at Kadena called to inform that LCpl Wallocker discharged fire suppression system in hangar on Kadena AFB, possibly destroying $300 million worth of airplanes.
0016- Made rounds of barracks. Duty NCO reported promptly and sharply. All secure.
0500- Reveille sounded.
Why is it that Marines consistently refuse to believe that you CANNOT get high from huffing halon?
