As it turns out, the prime contractor, Western Electric, commissioned a PR film to tout their achievement. It’s incredible the challenges they faced, and amusing and even inspiring the often brilliant ways they overcame those same challenges.

    My father told me a funny story about the computer in one of the SAGE buildings which were a part of that system. He also told me of the time that the U.S. almost went to war with the USSR because of the moonrise, which also happened because of the DEW line computers.
