San Diego Trip, so far…

I took the back road, over the mountains. It’s not Boston, or DC, but that’s about as much snow as I care to see. I’m staying right across the street from one of San Diego’s landmarks.

When we lived in Oregon we would take US 20 into the mountains from Albany where we lived. Our first trip was in the middle of July and at Tombstone meadow there was a snow field and an old oven door that had gotten there somehow and which we used as a sled. Good times.

Today marks 3 years since Lex left us. Bill Tuttle emailed me from the AFG to tell me. The email was waiting when I got home from work and I still feel the loss.

Hey! Welcome to San Diego. you know it’s going to be 74 degrees today and sunny!. Take a look across the bay at Coronado and I will wave at you from the Helicopter hangars on North Island.

Coming into San Diego from the west over the mountains is the best way. Magnificent view.
