The Harrier isn’t immune to problems with its landing gear. But given that it lands vertically, it has an option that results in very little damage.
I remember reading a story of a USCG helicopter crew having a gear malfunction and eventually landing their aircraft on a pile of mattresses that the ground crew had set out for them.
