I ws at an air show in San Marcos Texas a few years ago when a Corsair made a low level pass up the strip. There’s nothing in the world like the sound of that radial engine at full throttle. Beautiful aircraft.

There is one of those at the Seattle Aerospace Museum – rarest of the rare. Only reason I watched the “Blacksheep Squadron” was to watch the startup sequence – a sleepy lion gradually awakening to a low roar.

FG’s are fairly common. The rare bird at Seattle’s Museum of Flight is the very rare F2G. A highly modified Corsair powered not by the R-2800, but by the massive R-4360.

I want to strip naked and rub all over it.

    Does that make me weird?

Nope. It’d be weird if you didn’t want to.
