    I would have rather eaten spam than the meat like substance the Marine chow halls bought when money ran short. Mmmmmmm, mystery meat.

    I’d take Spam over any number of MRE “meat” products any day. Plus, any CS worth his salt can work with Spam and make something good from it. It’s kind of like “Legos”, but made from meat!

    I never got any Spam in the Navy. I did see it in both Air Force and Army chow halls, however. That was quite long ago, however.

    Funny, that is what we called Army infantry in 113s. DPICM/WP would cook “Spam in a can”.

    Me neither. Probably because it was more expensive than the low-bid generic “luncheon meat” we got.
