It’s called a pinnacle landing, they do teach the technique at Rucker, they just don’t have the same terrain…obviously. ๐

No natural pinnacles anyway. The southern part of the Blue Ridge does live in Alabama. Birmingham is in the Blue Ridge province which stretches into NE MS as well. Rucker is on the coastal plain where even the mole hills look like real hills.

If you shoot an approach to the top of a building it is basically the same technique, it’s all the other factors like wind and pressure altitude that are different…the way you go about it is exactly the same.
