It may seem a little foolish to use a multi-million dollar tank hunter to chase after a cheap wooden boat, but you don’t see me complaining.
I’ve always wondered why the Coast Guard didn’t have Apaches, or a modern B-25J (J? H? The Navy one with 6+ fifty-cals and optional 75mm howitzer.)

PJ, the Coasties aren’t trying to sink anyone. They are trying to stop them for search and seizure. They have terribly restrictive rules for the use of force in international waters. They don’t need a gazillion dollar gunship.
That said, they have had problems catching cigarette boats with their regular helos so they bought a few Aguasta A109s, threw a couple of door guns on them and renamed them MH-68A Enforcers.

I have a few friends in the CG, they all say it is better up north. up north they save people and they are treated as hero’s, down south people hate then cause they are all about drug running.

But I would bet that someone tried to track down who did it when they saw that video…’cause that’s the way we roll in aviation, yo.

Yeah, outlaw, I’m still surprised how many flathatting vids get onto youtube. I thought the big rule of flathatting was “don’t get caught”.
Then there were the guys that got their apache caught between two trees…. Not a career enhancing move.
